GHG INVENTORIES FOR COMPANIES IN TAY NINH’S INDUSTRIAL PARKS/ECONOMIC ZONES – KICK-OFF WORKSHOP

Global warming and climate change have become key themes in sustainable development. Governments as well as customers (brands, consumers) are more and more targeting strict requirements on energy efficiency and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Therefore, enterprises must be able to capture and manage their GHG-related risks to ensure long-term success in a competitive business environment and prepare to meet the requirements on climate factors of brands and policies and regulations of Vietnam.

The kick-off workshop on Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventories for enterprises in Industrial Parks/Economic Zones in Tay Ninh Province coordinated by the the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Ho Chi Minh City (VCCI-HCM) with the WorldWide Fund For Nature (WWF-Viet Nam) has been held this morning, on 6^th December, 2022 in Tay Ninh.

The kick-off workshop is one of the main activities of the Project on “An Energy Transition for a 1.5-degree world: Accelerating Progress in Asia”, to update, introduce to enterprises the regulations on GHG inventory, implementation methods and procedures, and share experiences in GHG reduction activities among enterprises.

Energy Conservation Research and Development Center (ENERTEAM) is the Main National Consultant implementing activities related to the support program of this Project. Project activities will be taken place from December 2022 to the end of April 2023. The project will support 100% of the consulting fee, help enterprises to implement Greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and develop GHG inventory reports (Scope 1 & 2) according to Decree 06/2022/NĐ- CP dated on 7^th January, 2022 of the Government.
