At present, the project on “Greening Vietnam’s textile sector through improving water management and energy sustainability“, hosted by the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development Department – MOIT and funded by the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) Vietnam to implement all project’s activities in Vietnam.
In the period from 2019 to 2022, the project focuses on raising awareness, providing technical training and assisting textile and dyeing businesses in the application and development of sustainable solutions for efficient use of water resources. and energy, and at the same time enhancing access to green investment credit for textile enterprises.
For this project, ENERTEAM will be in charge of the Main Consultant to execute the project’s component on ” Conducting water & energy baseline data study of the textile industry in Mekong and Dong Nai river basins“.

1. PROJECT OVERVIEW
The objective of this assignment:
To set up a database and related baseline on textile environmental impacts; in particular on water and energy use, as well as wastewater discharges. Information collected will be used as a benchmark for monitoring and evaluation of the program intervention’s impact on the green transformation of textile Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region.
Three activities that required to be well performed for this assignment are as below:

Detailed assessment based on the secondary data collection on water and energy consumption, wastewater discharge (volume and composition) of textile SMEs located in Mekong and Dong Nai river basins |
| Activity 2 | Site visit to up to 20 selected textile SMEs to conduct water/energy audit |
| Activity 3 | Qualitative and quantitative survey with local community groups about the environmental impact of the textile production to the community |
2. BENEFITS OF ENTERPRISES JOINING THIS PROJECT
a. Free energy and water audit, including consultancy in identifying energy and water as well as chemical saving opportunities in order to reduce production cost towards sustainable production also.
b. Free support in assessment of feasibility study on such saving measures planned to invested for execution by enterprises.
c. Support in connecting with Green Bonds (Financial Organization/Funds) for conducting resource saving measures.
d. Minimize environmental impacts and solve risks in production, related regulations and trust as well as maintaining profits.
3. REQUIREMENTS FOR JOINING
Meeting all 3 following criteria:
a. An enterprise producing fabrics with wet processes such as bleaching, dyeing, printing, etc. or finishing processing of garments (washing/dyeing)
b. Small and Medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with labours of yearly social insurance not beyond 200 persons and total revenue not over 200 billion VND or total source of capital not exceeding 100 billion VND.
c. Factories located in Mekong and Dong Nai basin rivers including 3 cities/provinces of Long An, Ho Chi Minh and Dong Nai.
