Resource Efficiency Training and Advisory to Textile Suppliers

RESOURCE EFFICIENCY TRAINING AND ADVISORY TO TEXTILE SUPPLIERS

In 2018, ENERTEAM has won one big call for tender submitted to the IFC (International Finance Corporation – a Member of the World Bank) on Resource Efficiency Training and Advisory to Textile Suppliers. All activities performed related to this project have been successfully executed in Vietnam by ENERTEAM. It’s our pleasure to have chance to join this project as main consultant as well as well performing all project’s activities by our members.

Let’s find out how special and wonderful this project is.

OBJECTIVES

The project aims at promoting resource efficiency production in textile sector in Viet Nam by the IFC for sustainable of an important sector to Viet Nam economy.

The main objectives of this assignment are to build the capacity of the Vietnamese textile industries/suppliers in resource efficiency production through developing and implementing in-depth resource efficiency training and advisory in selected textile industries/suppliers. The assignment includes the following tasks.

1.

Develop resource efficiency training curriculum covering relevant components of textile production

2. Provide four (04) training modules including energy efficiency in energy systems and production processes in textile supply chain to selected suppliers
3. Carry out walk through audit for 40 Client’s suppliers that help primarily identifying resource efficiency opportunities of these suppliers
4.  Resource efficiency implementation support

This project includes 4 main tasks that must be well performed by ENERTEAM. Some details of activities are summarized as follows

1. DEVELOP RESOURCE EFFICIENCY TRAINING CURRICULUM COVERING RELATED COMPONENTS TO TEXTILE SUPPLIERS

Main contents of each training module are as below:

Module 1 Energy management system (EnMS)
Module 2 Energy efficiency of electrical utility systems and introduction renewable energy solutions for textile industry
Module 3 Energy efficiency of thermal system
Module 4 Resource efficiency technologies for textile sector

2. PROVIDE FOUR (04) TRAINING MODULES DEVELOPED TO PARTICIPATED SUPPLIERS

  • Building the capacity of employees in textile industry: self-assessment of energy management status, learn how to find opportunities for effective improvement in system management
  • On-site training provides participants practical exercises using real equipment. The topics will be identification of main systems/equipment, common errors during operation, measurement to assess the status of systems/equipment, identification energy saving potential, group discussion, and so on.
  • Strengthen capacity of trainees on fundamentals of Existent Resource Efficiency technologies in textile sector and their benefit;
  • Trainees gain knowledge in order to develop resource efficiency measures and assess the feasibility of these measures;
  • Trainees develop skills to audit their resource consumption, calculate material and energy balance to identify the loss; calculate the savings

3. CARRY OUT WALK THROUGH AUDIT FOR 40 CLIENT’S SUPPLIERS

  • To assess the status of resource consumption to establish baseline of resource consumption of the factories
  • To provide breakdown of resource consumption by main system/equipment, highlighting the consumption of the main end-users
  • To identify the relevant resource efficiency saving measures.
  • To analyse the expected annual energy/water savings and CO2 emission reduction resulting from the identified measures

4. RESOURCE EFFICIENCY IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT

  • Establishing action plan for no – low cost resource saving solutions
  • Implementing no – low cost resource saving solutions selected in the action plan
  • Selecting the high saving potential to do in – depth assessments and feasibility study

This project was successfully executed by ENERTEAM in 2018. We’re really happy because all related project’s activities have been well performed as required as well as their expected deliveries were fully achieved.

Once again, we would like to say thank you to IFC for setting up this wonderful project with meaningful, real activities performed as well as bringing benefits together with resource efficiency for enterprises joining this project.

We do hope that IFC will continue building similar projects for enterprises in other industrial sectors that aim to sustainable development and resource efficiency in production at factories.
