Renewable Energy and Efficiency Energy (RE&EE) is an important phrase that is always mentioned in the energy sector. Recently the project on “Viet Nam Energy Efficiency Community – VEECOM website” has been developed and officially published on 2nd April, 2021 and is receiving positive responses from the community throughout the country. The main concern for this website users are typically as energy managers, energy auditors who have been gotten relevant certificates by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) and related persons, such as energy efficiency experts, lecturers at universities and vocational colleges, research agencies, equipment suppliers, state managers as well as consulting firms in the field of energy efficiency.

The objective of this project is intended to enhance the coherence of the energy efficiency community and provide a means for lifelong learning and sharing. The VEECOM is developed to provide useful and technical information for energy managers, energy auditors, technicians from industrial companies and other stakeholders via a website platform. The website will create the the opportunity for the target group to exchange information and discussion in a community forum, learn from each other and create a platform where the target group can be matched with service providers.
Beside the community forum, the website should support the energy managers, energy auditors and technicians from the industrial sector in their daily work by providing e.g. calculation tools, up-to-date information about available technology and reliable energy service providers. Working templates to simplify their daily work and best practice demonstration will also be frequently updated.

The VEECOM is the most successful deliverable of the “Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency” (4E) project under umbrella of the MOIT/GIZ Energy Support Programme (ESP) consists of two components: i) Renewable energy and ii) Energy Efficiency. This project aims to support the implementation of political targets on the promotion of renewable energy (RE) and increase energy efficiency (EE) in Viet Nam by creating the methodological and structural foundations for the promotion of RE and EE. Furthermore, the human and organizational capacity of relevant partner organizations in terms of the fundamentals of effective design, introduction and implementation of RE and EE support measures and programs will be strengthened.
The domain owner for all legal obligations of VEECOM will be MOIT.
On the above basis, ENERTEAM, as a national consultant (NC), is pleased to provide technical inputs for implementation of the VEECOM in Vietnam, manage and support the GIZ in preparing the VEECOM’s contents and answering all technical questions from VEECOM’s members based on our excellent experience in RE and EE with a deep knowledge of the Vietnamese industrial sector and technology providers to consult VEECOM members appropriately.
Throughout all activities within the projects, ENERTEAM will regular exchange and be in consultation with staff members of the MOIT/GIZ team, with the Department of Science, Technology and Energy Efficiency (DSTEE) of the MOIT as well as with the GIZ 4E Project. These two partners are especially important for strategic guidance, work plan approval and monitoring, potential proposals for methodology application for the tasks deployment and regular reporting of results, etc..
ENERTEAM also provides inputs on technical issues during the operation of the VEECOM forum. With long-life practical experience and expertise in energy efficiency in many industries, especially in fields of electricity, heat, water, and different production technologies, utilities, etc., ENERTEAM will help to answer all questions from all members via the forums for their practical problems. Besides, ENERTEAM has closely exchanged with international experts for the international experience on EE solutions in many industries as well. All topics regarding technology and relevant costs have been always updated frequently, and so on the related policies, so ENERTEAM will work with the web developer and web admin to keep updating the information and the calculation tools regularly and appropriately.
Especially, regarding the initial technical inputs from ENERTEAM for developing the VEECOM, some following deliverables that are really important and useful for targeted groups of this website include:

- Boiler efficiency (direct & indirect)
- Motor efficiency
- Pump capacity
- Pump efficiency
- Air compressor efficiency
- Fan efficiency
- Energy & cost saving calculators for lighting replacement
- Energy & cost saving calculators for boiler replacement
- Electric Motor and VSD Energy Saving calculator.
– At least 20 links to useful calculation tools from other websites to integrate in the VEECOM
– At least 10 maintenance checklists
– At least 50 best practice solutions focused on cross sectoral technologies, which are implemented by Vietnamese designated energy users.
– A database of at least 50 companies of energy efficiency service providers and at least 50 companies of EE technology providers for each EE technology category in Vietnam.
The technical supports from ENERTEAM to develop the VEECOM as well as being in charge of technical consultant for forum discussion in this project has been finished during from June 2020 to March 2022. The VEECOM is a great deliverable with essential relevant technical information for the official energy efficiency community in Vietnam.
